Equans is looking for a General Maintenance Operative to join our team in Kingston upon Thames on a Permanent basis. This is a full time role. On offer is a competitive salary, and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

  • Deliver a wide range of planned & reactive maintenance works at the Kingston student living sites (Seething Wells, Kingston Hill)
  • Provide initial response to all Reactive Maintenance requests during normal working hours and Out of Hours as part of the On-call Out of Hours Rota
  • Quarterly shower head & hose cleaning in accordance with L8 requirements (full training will be provided)
  • Continuous monitoring and maintenance of mechanical systems, fittings and plantrooms
  • Weekly fire alarm testing on the student accommodation
  • Bi-annual Fire Door inspections (full training will be provided), ensuring necessary adjustments are completed / faults & damage recorded accurately
  • Undertake regular visual inspections of building fabric, furniture, fixtures & fittings
  • Effect repairs to building fabric, furniture, fixtures & fittings where noted / when reported
  • Undertake minor decorating works when needed
  • Undertake quarterly RCD Function tests

Who are we looking for?

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role essential
  • Suitable trade discipline qualification (NVQ level 2 or equivalent) desirable but not essential
  • Working knowledge of ACOP L8 desirable
  • Ability to prioritise & work effectively under pressure
  • Full UK driving licence
