Job Description
Job Title: Temporary Warehouse Operative (FLT Licence Required)
This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and forward-thinking business, striving to be the very best. We are seeking a motivated individual who embraces the company’s values and can demonstrate strong experience in warehouse operations, distribution, and systems. Based in a modern, newly constructed facility, you will be responsible for offloading, picking, packing, and loading goods, with occasional cover in transport when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for your own Health and Safety and that of others by following safe working practices.
- Deal with customers, drivers, and visitors promptly, professionally, and courteously.
- Goods In: Unload deliveries, check the quantity and quality of goods, and store items safely in line with company procedures.
- Order Fulfilment: Pick, pack, and label customer orders accurately in line with company procedures (manual handling required).
- Dispatch: Load vehicles and ensure all paperwork is signed and completed correctly.
- Inspect goods returned and process them in line with procedures.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene, and site presentation.
- Carry out regular stock takes and assist with the annual stock take.
The Person
- Must have a minimum of 2 years’ forklift counterbalance experience.
- Reach truck and/or boom attachment experience preferred but not essential.
- Previous warehouse picking experience is essential.
- Experience in logistics is advantageous but not essential.
- A reliable team player who can also work independently in a time-sensitive environment.
- Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and ability to build good working relationships.
Qualifications
- Current FLT Counterbalance licence (essential).
- Reach Truck licence preferred but not essential.
- Basic Maths and English.
- Manual Handling and H&S Awareness certificates preferred but not essential.
- First Aid certificate preferred but not essential.
- Full UK driving licence.
Additional Information
- This is a temporary role.
- Standard office hours are 8:15am – 5:00pm, 7.5-hour shifts, with some flexibility depending on team cover.
