Job Description
Azure networking, Cisco, VPN, DNS, Terraform
We’re looking for a Senior Cloud Network Engineer with a strong background in traditional enterprise networking and deep expertise in Azure cloud networking. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team and play a key role in designing and delivering secure, scalable, and robust cloud network solutions.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who has evolved from a traditional network engineering background, possibly CCIE certified or equivalent, and has since transitioned into the world of cloud networking. You’ll bring a mature and methodical approach to designing and implementing complex cloud network architectures, primarily within Microsoft Azure.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and implement Azure networking solutions, including:
- ExpressRoute and Site-to-Site VPNs
- Virtual WAN and Hub-Spoke architectures
- Network security using Azure Firewalls and third-party firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto)
- Virtual Network peering, custom routing, and segmentation
- IP address planning and design
- Azure Landing Zone design aligned with the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF)
- Champion best practices in:
- DNS management and global traffic control
- Multi-layered cloud network security
- Infrastructure-as-Code and automation using Terraform and APIs
- CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or similar) for infrastructure deployment
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 8+ years of professional experience in network engineering
- At least 3-4 years of recent experience in cloud networking, with a focus on Microsoft Azure
- Background in enterprise networking (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto), ideally with certifications like CCIE
- Comfortable presenting network designs to senior technical and business stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving ability and a passion for clean, secure, and efficient network design
Our client is a Managed Service Provider and Software Consultancy based in Kent but they do also have an office in London. This is a mainly remote position but will require at least once a month in the office so must be within a commutable distance.
Must be eligible to work in the UK and no sponsorship on offer.
