Job Description

The Facilities Engineering Technician will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving facilities within the warehouse/ manufacturing site. This permanent position in Maidstone Kent requires someone who is proactive in the overall building maintenance and safety while working with the greater engineering team!

This role is with a well-established and respected organisation within the food warehouse/ manufacturing industry. As a large-sized operation, the company has just had a multimillion pound investment to put into their Warehouse sites and engineering /facilities teams!

Description

  • Ensure a safe work environment by managing both reactive and proactive maintenance, identifying issues, and implementing solutions.
  • Perform daily maintenance tasks such as fire alarm and sprinkler testing, HVAC and electrical checks, building upkeep, and checkout maintenance.
  • Build strong relationships with store leadership, communicate clearly, and manage expectations.
  • Complete repairs within agreed SLAs and accurately log work, escalating issues when needed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to meet legal, compliance, and safety standards.
  • Attend meetings to discuss maintenance priorities and urgency.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems promptly and support energy-saving initiatives.
  • Maintain equipment, prepare maintenance reports, assist with facility improvements, and respond quickly to emergencies to minimize downtime.

Profile

A successful Facilities Engineering Technician should have:

  • Facilities, Maintenance, and/or engineering experience
  • Exposure to CMMS services e.g. Verisae, SAP, Maximo
  • Communication and stakeholder management
  • Setting and maintaining of the highest of standards
  • Commutable to Maidstone Greater Area
