Job Description

Network Engineer

Location: Basildon/Billericay/Brentwood area (hybrid – HQ & site visits)Full UK Driving Licence required

£30k-£35k

Are you a hands-on Network Engineer with a passion for solving complex issues and working across a wide range of technologies? We're looking for someone to take ownership of installations, support escalations, and network projects both remotely and on-site. On-site visits are a couple of times per week, with expenses paid. Most sites are within Essex and London, with a couple further afield.

Please note, this is not an entry level role. Commercial experience in a networking role, installing firewalls and networks is essential.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting escalated tickets from the Helpdesk Team (remote & on-site)
  • Firewall installations
  • Leading and delivering network installation projects
  • Working alongside Account Managers and Sales to advise on technical solutions
  • Maintaining and improving network monitoring & alerting systems

What you'll bring:

  • Solid knowledge of Layer 2
  • Firewall experience: Sophos, Fortigate, Watchguard, Cisco ASA/FTD
  • Strong grasp of switching (Cisco IOS, HP Aruba) and VLAN management
  • Good understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • Cisco CCNA (or equivalent) a big plus

What you'll need:

  • Previous commercial experience in a similar IT/Network Support role
  • Previous firewall installation experience
  • Confident working with switches and routers
  • Excellent customer-facing skills
  • Full UK driving licence and car (site visits required roughly 2-3 days a week)
  • Full right to work in the UK without any restrictions
