Job Description
This is an amazing opportunity to join our award winning client as an Apprentice Engineer offering hybrid working and the opportunity to work for one of the most adaptable and reactive engineering companies within the UK defence sector.Whilst undertaking a Level 4/HNC Apprenticeship, your knowledge and expertise will be working on live projects and assignments within the organisation.Working in the test and electronics design team, collaborating with electronic and software engineers primarily, the role will allow for the selected candidate to generate full data packs, build first-of-type products, analyse quality control, conduct testing, and support production in order to ensure the end product meets the customer’s needs. What you’ll doUndertake a 4 year apprenticeship through a validated preferred supplier as an ‘Engineering Manufacturing Technician.’Assist and liaise with project teams on mechanical aspects of products and systems.Design bespoke equipment i.a.w Defence standards in order to benefit the capabilities of the modern day defence sector.Select Materials, Manufacturing processes and integration methods in order to best suit the equipment’s use.Liaise and provide technical advice to suppliers and internal departments to ensure the product is fit for purpose and manufactured to the design intent. What you’ll need
- Ability to design, develop and review digital and analogue circuits (from concept to final product).
- Undertake design activities at both the equipment and system levels.
- Meeting technical requirements through all phases of design, integration and leading to customer acceptance.
- Experience in all aspects of electronics product design including legislative compliance
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload with a hands-on approach.
- Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to develop solutions.
- Strong communication skills both written and oral.
- Degree educated or equivalent qualification.
- Ability to obtain UK Security Clearance
- Previous experience working with MoD customers & equipment test standards. (Desirable)
- Experience designing safety critical systems, or mission critical systems. (Desirable)
- Design, Development and Review of firmware sub-systems (from concept to final product) (Desirable)
- Safety Critical Electronics experience (Desirable)
