Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially focused Finance Director to join our leadership team. This is a hands-on role that goes beyond traditional financial oversight, playing a pivotal part in strategic planning, commercial decision-making, and driving business performance.

You will be responsible for leading the finance function, partnering with senior stakeholders, and delivering actionable insight through robust management reporting and financial analysis. Experience in mergers and acquisitions, building business cases, and supporting rapid business growth is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Finance Leadership:

Lead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning.

• Commercial Insight & Business Partnering:

Work closely with commercial and operational teams to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and drive profitability across the business.

• Management Reporting:

Develop and deliver timely, accurate, and insightful management reporting packs, including KPIs, variance analysis, and forecasting to the Group finance department.

• M&A Activity:

Lead financial due diligence, valuation, deal structuring, and integration for mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic investments.

• Business Case Development:

Build detailed financial models and investment appraisals for new initiatives, projects, and capital expenditure.

• Hands-on Finance Operations:

Responsibility for the day-to-day finance function via line management of the finance manager, ensuring financial control, compliance, cash flow management, and timely month-end close.

• Stakeholder Reporting:

Manage relationships with external stakeholders (e.g., Group plc, auditors, banks, investors) and prepare board-level reporting as needed.

• Team Leadership:

Mentor and develop the finance manager and provide leadership to the broader team, building a high-performance, commercially aware finance function

Key Requirements:

• Fully qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 5 years post-qualified experience.

• Proven track record as a Finance Director or senior finance leader in a fast-paced, commercial environment.

• Experience in M&A, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration.

• Expertise in management reporting, financial modelling, and commercial analysis.

• Comfortable working in a hands-on, agile environment — equally capable of diving into the detail and contributing at a strategic level.

• Excellent communication and business partnering skills; confident presenting to senior stakeholders and non-finance colleagues.

• Commercially astute, with demonstrable experience in building robust business cases and influencing strategic decisions.

• Experience managing change and leading high performing teams

• High emotional intelligence and integrity, combined with a proactive and collaborative mindset

Desirable:

• Experience in private equity-backed or growth-stage businesses.

• Sector experience in the Medico-legal space

• Knowledge of ERP systems and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
