Our client is a small family owned and managed company who carry out a wide range of mechanical and technical services to both domestic and commercial clients in the South West. They are looking for an experienced HVAC / Gas Service Manager with demonstrable leadership skills to lead a professional team of engineers. Their focus is to provide a quality service to their customers at all times.

Responsibilities – HVAC / Gas Service Manager

  1. To manage the daily delivery of service and breakdown operations for the company
  2. To run a small experienced team of engineers who carry out emergency, urgent, routine, planned and cyclical jobs for domestic and commercial clients
  3. Deliver an effective service whilst managing expenditure
  4. P&L responsibility for all service and breakdown operations, ensuring all incoming applications for payment are checked and signed off in a timely manner
  5. Maintaining and growing client relationships to ensure contract extensions, remedial works and installations, including representing the Company at site meetings
  6. Carrying out technical inspections and spot checks
  7. Reporting on department performance
  8. Implementing company policy and procedures
  9. Participation in the out of hours management rota
  10. Provide regular updates on progress and performance of service
  11. Drive efficiencies and productivity of engineers whilst focusing on profit margin opportunities
  12. Responsible for any RAMS, PPE, Toolbox Talks and audits required for the team

Skills & Experience – HVAC / Gas Service Manager

  1. Recent (but not necessarily current) Gas Safe ACS Qualifications
  2. Relevant HVAC technical background (bias towards plumbing and heating)
  3. Excellent knowledge of gas repairs and servicing in both domestic and commercial environments, including any relevant regulations, legislation and best practice
  4. Service contract and remedial quotations and management
  5. Experience of implementing and delivering operational procedures, including PPM schedules
  6. Proven client facing / customer service experience
  7. Leadership skills
  8. Comprehensive IT and systems knowledge
  9. Full driving licence
  10. Clear DBS
  11. CSCS
