Job Description
Radley Green is partnering exclusively with a fast-growth trading business based in London to recruit an Indirect Tax (VAT and Operational Tax) Manager / Senior Manager for their ever-expanding Tax team.
The business is under 10 years old, valued at £1bn and is going through huge growth globally and as such they are growing out their high-performing Finance function. This role will report into, and work closely with, the Global Head of Tax and focus on all areas of VAT and Operational Tax.
Whilst specific experience is not required candidates do require experience in VAT on sales of goods, including cross border movement, triangulation, deferred VAT accounting, and associated customs procedures experience.
Candidates must have the ability, and willingness, to work in a role that is hands-on at times due but also partner with senior stakeholders and take responsibility for all areas of VAT.
This role is being recruited immediately and will pay £75-90k plus great benefits and 30-40% bonus.
Our client is open to considering candidates that have trained through industry but also those looking for their first in-house role.
The responsibilities include:
- Work with the front office colleagues and counterparties to understand the commercial impact and compliance requirements of all taxes in the supply chain across multiple jurisdictions (eg severance taxes, royalties, customs duties, import VAT, VAT/GST and sales taxes, climate change levies, withholding taxes)
- Preparation of necessary returns (eg VAT, GST, sales tax, climate change levy, EU sales lists etc) to ensure the business is compliant with its reporting and collection obligations in all jurisdictions, currently numbering 11 jurisdictions.
- Evaluate and improve systems (both electronic and manual) to reduce the time spent on return preparation, strengthen controls and ensure readiness for future developments (eg einvoicing).
- Ensure company’s contracts adequately deal with these taxes to minimise risk to the firm
- Ensure the pricing impact of these taxes is properly understood and factored into deals
- Act as Tax lead on system / ERP implementation

- Qualified Accountant or Tax professional
- Willingness to expand knowledge into other taxes essential
- Demonstrable experience of effecting systems changes essential
- Experience working in / with financial services organisations
