MCS Group is delighted to be working in Partnership with NI Water to recruit a Health and Safety Advisor to join their HSE team for a Maternity cover post for 12 months.

Support the development and implementation of health & safety best practice arrangements across Northern Ireland Water, ensuring it complies with all current health & safety legislation including Acts, Regulations, related Approved Codes of Practice, and other statutory compliance guidance and standards.
Be responsible for providing clear, strategic leadership for the continual development of a safe environment for colleagues, contractors, visitors and the public.
Promote and enable a best practice culture with respect to health & safety
Work with function managers to establish and maintain a program of continual improvement in the management of health & safety within their areas of responsibility.
Supporting corporate health & safety strategy workstreams relating to operational and corporate health & safety software system development and ongoing health and safety behavioral change programs and will be actively involved with the continued improvement and development of related policies.
Undertaking health and safety inspections across a wide range of NI Water functions, premises, disciplines and activities, including, but not limited to: wastewater, water production, M&E, metering & billing, capital engineering projects, operational contracts and other ancillary service departments / office-based departments; Occasional out of hours inspections may be required.
A NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent.
A minimum of three years’ demonstrable experience in a health & safety role within a Construction/ Utility/ Engineering environment.
Candidates have or are presently working towards a third level qualification in occupational health and safety, such as, the NEBOSH Diploma.
Practical experience of audit procedures and experience of implementing health & safety standards, such as, ISO 45001.
Experience of conducting and managing health & safety inspections, audits & investigations.
