Base pay range

Salary: £59,474 – £62,604 per annum, dependent on experience

Location: Hybrid (2 days per week in Canary Wharf, London)

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Overview:

Our client is seeking a Policy Manager (Education) to lead the development and promotion of education and skills policy relevant to vocational training and qualifications in the finance sector. The successful candidate will influence policy agendas, represent the organisation’s views to stakeholders, and contribute to shaping a more inclusive and accessible skills system in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of the organisation’s education and skills policy strategy
  • Analyse legislative and policy developments in further education, apprenticeships, and skills
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders such as government departments, regulators, training providers, and employers
  • Represent the organisation in policy discussions, forums, and advocacy efforts
  • Produce well-researched policy briefings, reports, and strategic papers
  • Collaborate with internal departments on communications and policy messaging
  • Manage cross-functional projects that advance policy objectives

Candidate Profile:

  • In-depth knowledge of UK government processes, public policy formulation, and regulatory environments
  • Strong understanding of the education and skills landscape and emerging challenges
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with proven influence at senior levels
  • Demonstrated experience in policy development, writing, and advocacy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in a dynamic environment
  • Degree in public policy, political science, law, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Experience within a professional body, regulatory agency, or education provider is desirable
