We are looking to hire an ambitious Program Manager to help enable the next phase of growth at Apex and to drive performance and operational excellence across our Operations and Technology functions. This role will report into the Global Head of Program Management & Governance.
What does a successful Project Manager do?
As a successful Project Manager this role will play a crucial role in the planning, execution, and completion of projects within a global context.
Your responsibilities will encompass managing and coordinating all project activities, from initiation to implementation. This includes project kick-off, requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, production implementation, post-implementation review, status reporting, budget tracking, and capturing lessons learned. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to lead and coordinate cross-company teams, ensuring successful project delivery.
Key responsibilities

Ensure all projects align with the organization\’s strategic goals. Work with senior management to define the program\’s vision, mission, and goals, and communicate these to project teams.

Develop comprehensive program plans outlining project scope, objectives, timelines, and resources. Coordinate with project managers to ensure projects progress according to plan.

Allocate people budget and resources to various projects. Monitor and adjust resource allocation to ensure efficient use and avoid overlap or wastage.

Identify potential risks early and develop mitigation strategies. Conduct risk assessments, monitor for new risks, and implement contingency plans to maintain program progress and avoid disruptions.

Serve as the primary contact for all stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, clients, and external partners. Ensure regular updates on program progress, challenges, and successes through meetings, status reports, and presentations.

Establish and maintain quality standards across all projects. Conduct regular quality audits, monitor deliverables, and implement corrective actions to ensure outputs meet desired quality levels and stakeholder expectations.

Manage changes to project scopes, timelines, or resources. Assess the impact of changes, obtain stakeholder approval, and communicate changes to project teams to ensure minimal disruption.

Continuously monitor project performance, track progress, measure effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement. Set performance metrics, conduct reviews, and provide feedback to project teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.

Develop and manage the program budget. Monitor expenditures and ensure projects stay within allocated budgets. Proactively manage any financial issues that arise.

Provide leadership and guidance to project managers and teams. Serve as a mentor, offering support and advice. Foster a positive work environment, encourage collaboration, and recognise team achievements.

Commit to continuous improvement by regularly reviewing processes, identifying areas for enhancement, and implementing changes. Stay updated with industry trends, adopt best practices, and promote a culture of learning within the team.

Proficiency with Project Management Tools including MS Project and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio).

Confident and credible partnering with stakeholders and sponsors to MD level and driving broader business engagement in change
