Position
The Admissions Compliance Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that all admissions activities are conducted in full compliance with institutional policies, partner university regulations, and UK statutory requirements, including those set by the Office for Students (OfS), UKVI, and other relevant regulatory bodies.
This role combines operational oversight with compliance leadership, ensuring the effective management of the admissions process for both UK and international students. The postholder will work closely with internal teams, external recruitment partners, and franchising universities to ensure all admissions decisions are transparent, fair, and meet regulatory and partnership expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end admissions process, ensuring timely and accurate application handling in line with institutional and partner university requirements.
- Review and approve applicant documentation to ensure compliance with academic criteria, English language standards, and visa eligibility.
- Ensure admissions compliance with UK legislation, including Home Office immigration rules and Office for Students (OfS) registration conditions.
- Maintain and manage the UCAS portal, ensuring data accuracy, timely decisions, and effective applicant communication.
- Develop and update admissions and compliance policies, ensuring procedures reflect current regulations and institutional standards.
- Act as the primary contact for partner universities on admissions and compliance matters, fostering smooth collaboration and information exchange.
- Produce and present reports on admissions trends, compliance metrics, and visa refusal rates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and escalate compliance risks, maintaining accurate and auditable records in line with data protection and audit standards.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- A bachelor\’s degree or equivalent professional experience (essential).
- Additional qualifications or training in compliance, immigration, or higher education administration (desirable).
Skills & Knowledge:
- Extensive experience in higher education admissions or compliance, with direct responsibility for managing UCAS applications and using the UCAS Admissions portal.
- Strong understanding of UK legislation and data practices, including GDPR and data management in an admissions context.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in processing applicant data and documentation.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and build effective relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
