MacGregor Black are partnering with a fast-paced FMCG organisation on the search for a Group IT Director. This is a permanent role based in London.

As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for shaping the Groups IT strategy, driving operational improvements, overseeing core business systems, and leading a capable internal IT function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and deliver a practical, business-aligned IT strategy across the Group.
  • Lead, mentor and develop the internal IT team, fostering a culture of ownership and service excellence.
  • Own and manage the Group IT budget, ensuring value for money and clear prioritisation of projects and support.
  • Oversee day-to-day IT operations across all UK entities and sites, ensuring consistent service delivery.
  • Manage core infrastructure, cloud platforms, end-user computing, and service desk operations.
  • Ensure IT systems support field-based operations, including engineering teams, logistics, and customer servicing.
  • Maintain business continuity, robust disaster recovery, and high availability across key systems.
  • Lead the improvement and optimisation of business systems, including ERP (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics), CRM, service management tools, and mobile workforce platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems meet operational and commercial needs.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, integrate or modernise systems to improve efficiency and reporting.
  • Own the Groups cyber security roadmap, policies, and controls.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations (UK GDPR) and information security best practices.
  • Manage IT risk and regularly report on posture and improvement areas to senior stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted partner to senior leaders, ensuring technology is enablingnot obstructingthe business.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including outsourced services, software providers, and infrastructure partners.

What We\’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role (IT Director, Head of IT, CIO) within a multi-site, service-led or operational business.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise IT systems including ERP (Microsoft Dynamics preferred), field service platforms, and infrastructure services.
  • Experience supporting field-based teams, logistics operations, or engineering/service businesses.
  • Hands-on understanding of cloud platforms, networking, and modern workplace tools.
  • Track record of improving IT operations, delivering systems upgrades, and managing third-party vendors.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
