We arelooking to strengthen our Project Delivery team with an Handover / Quality Manager based in Christchurch within the Southwest Water region.
You will report directly to the Senior Project Manager and your role will be towork with a Project team on a single or portfolio of projects to plan & manage the quality management & handover of projects with the project teams. General duties will being taking the lead on developing the handover plan ensuring compliance with the client system ensuring all necessary information is obtained through the project life cycle, whilst managing the quality deliverables of each project through the project teams. Supporting the development and continuous improvement of the project team and supply chain, striving to deliver enhanced quality & handover outcomes, customer satisfaction and commercial success.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop, implement and maintain the Quality Management Plan in line with project specifications
- Ensure all works meet design specifications & clientβs expectations.
- Perform inspections, audits, and surveillance to monitor compliance with quality requirements.
- Manage Non-conformance process, identification, recording, root cause analysis & resolution.
- Work with delivery team, subcontractors & suppliers to ensure materials and workmanship comply with specifications.
- Develop and manage the project handover strategy, ensuring timely & complete delivery of all required documentation & records.
- Coordinate the collection, review, and collation of quality records (e.g., test certificates, inspection reports, as-built drawings, O&M manuals).
- Ensure compliance with client and regulatory authority handover requirements.
- Manage & support the development and submission of Technical and Construction File documentation for end-user acceptance.
- Act as the key point of contact between the delivery team, design, commissioning, and client representatives on all quality and handover matters.
- Facilitate coordination between civil, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning teams to ensure multidisciplinary alignment for handover readiness.
- Chair or support handover readiness and quality review meetings to track progress and address issues.
- Maintain accurate quality performance metrics and prepare regular reports for internal management and client stakeholders.
- Report on handover status including documentation completeness, outstanding snags, and readiness for sectional/overall completion.
- Identify trends in quality performance and drive initiatives for continuous improvement across the project lifecycle.
- Provide training and guidance to project staff and subcontractors to foster a quality-first culture.
- Implement lessons learned from previous projects into the quality and handover processes.
- Ensure activities comply with ISO 9001, CDM Regulations, and any environmental or statutory requirements specific to the project.
- Identify and manage handover and quality risks, escalating issues where necessary to mitigate impact on project delivery.
