The Opportunity
Avantor is looking for a proactive and self-driven Innovation Support Specialistto join our team supporting customer sites across the UK. In this dynamic role, you\’ll support leading the deployment of digital tools and IoT technologies, support innovation trials, train onsite teams, and collaborate with stakeholders to build and present business cases for new solutions. You\’ll be instrumental in driving operational readiness and digital transformation across our Life Sciences customer base.
This is a full-time, field-based position with up to 80% travel to customer locations. Alongside an attractive salary, we offer multiple benefits such as a pension scheme, private medical and dental care, and an additional day off for your birthday.
You\’ll be travelling to major customer sites in Cambridge, Macclesfield, and others, with occasional overnight stays. The successful candidate must be based in the UK. In the future, this role may expand to include travel across Europe.

The Team
You\’ll be part of a small, agile Innovation Team consisting of anInnovation Project Managerand anInnovation Support Specialist(you!). Together, you\’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, site managers, and the Smart Lab Manager Product Manager to deliver impactful, tech-enabled solutions that enhance lab operations and customer experience. You\’ll belong to ourLab and Production Servicesdepartment, which supports major pharmaceutical companies and laboratories worldwide in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.
What We\’re Looking For
- Education:GCSE or equivalent secondary school qualification (A-levels, vocational certifications, or a degree in a relevant field such as Life Sciences, Engineering, or IT are desirable)
- Experience:
- Proven experience inproject coordination or management, ideally within a scientific, technical, or innovation-focused environment
- Strong background indigital tools,IoT technologies, anddata-driven solutions, with the ability to support and troubleshoot new systems
- Excellentcommunication and stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence presenting to and collaborating across all organisational levels
- Demonstrated ability tolead innovation trials, build and presentbusiness cases, and supportbudget applications
- Solid understanding ofchange managementand experience supporting operational transitions and technology rollouts
- Proficient inMicrosoft Office Suiteand other digital platforms
How You\’ll Thrive And Create An Impact
- Support leading the deployment, calibration, and troubleshooting of IoT devices and digital tools across customer sites
- Support and coordinate innovation trials, including planning, execution, reporting, and training of onsite associates
- Act as a key liaison between customer sites, internal stakeholders, and the Smart Lab Manager Product Manager
- Build and present business cases for new technologies and support budget applications for innovation initiatives
- Maintain performance logs, monitor device stability, and contribute to the development of new digital functionalities
- Share insights, propose new ideas, and support continuous improvement and change management across lab operations
