Job Description
We have an exciting new opportunity for qualified compliance professionals in Putney.
Our client, a well-respected full-service law firm, is in need of a Risk and Compliance Lawyer to assist their established team of professionals.
This role will help to support the firm’s legal/regulatory requirements, alongside monitoring risks related to new clients and matters.
The ideal candidate is someone with previous law firm experience within a similar AML or financial crime related role. The successful candidate should have good knowledge the law, regulatory and professional law firm standards. Equally, a good understanding of AML Legislation, sanctions and general compliance would be desirable.
An overview of your responsibilities:
- Review risk assessments and update various central risk registers
- Verify information required for new matter/client opening processes
- Conduct screenings for regulatory risk, PEPs and sanctions
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative/regulatory changes and ensure policies/procedures are promptly updated
- Support colleagues in complex file reviews and conflict searches, alongside regulatory risk mitigation
- Liaise with firmwide staff, providing technical AML/CDD related advice to ensure general compliance
- Carry out induction training when required
- Support the preparation of annual AML reports
- Ongoing monitoring & escalation to AML Manager as appropriate
- Facilitate firm-wide training on risk and compliance issues
