Our Contingent Workforce Solution (CWS) is one of our service offerings; we act as an extension of Rolls-Royces recruitment team and provide professional interim and temporary resources.

Rolls-Royce pioneers cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe & competitive solutions to meet our planet\’s vital power needs. Due to a number of exciting change and transformational activities across the Rolls-Royce business we are now seeking to add a number of Lifecycle Engineers.

TheLifecycle Engineerwill be based in Derby 3 days per week, with 2 days spent remote working on a 24 month contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage known and potential safety issues (e.g., SAR & Red Top).
  • Participate in safety boards as outlined in the Safety Management Plan.
  • Predict future safety and reliability performance using statistical techniques.
  • Conduct Numerical Risk Assessments and Parametric Distribution analysis.
  • Review and maintain lifecycle engineering policies and maintenance planning documentation.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities through lifecycle analysis.
  • Manage issues affecting Maturity, Lifecycle Cost, Reliability, and Maintainability.
  • Ensure alignment with Design Intent throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Provide and model lifecycle technical data (build, in-service, decommissioning).
  • Support time-on-platform predictions and optimization strategies.
  • Identify and define requirements for new Health Monitoring Systems or capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and stakeholder requirements.
  • Act as Technical Authority where delegated, providing assurance on build, commissioning, and maintenance.
  • Gather in-service data to identify best practices and lessons learned.
  • Feed insights into future programmes and product design teams.

Criteria:

  • Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or a related numerical discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong understanding of component/system functionality and numerical methods.
  • Proven experience working on complex, novel, and ambiguous engineering tasks.
  • Familiarity with in-service operational environments, including regulatory and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams (e.g., specialists, suppliers, customers, partners).
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
