About the Role:

  • Reports to the Build Manager
  • Has 2nd in command status for the Build Team
  • This role\’s responsibilities are initially focused on Manufacturing Engineering, and are likely to later develop into a more traditional Chief Race Mechanic role.

Manufacturing Engineer responsibilities:

  • Continuous development and implementation of build processes, assembly routing, and best working practices.
  • Driving process adherence in collaboration with quality and engineering departments.
  • Tracking, data gathering, and reporting build progress.
  • Highlighting potential critical paths within supporting functions such as Supplier Quality and part delivery cadence.
  • MRP, WO system management, and exercising a high standard of diligent record keeping.
  • Build issue NCR creation, tracking, and closure.
  • Expedition of component requirements in line with production plans.
  • Implementation of and adherence to H&S throughout all build departments and areas.

Qualifications:

All applicants are required to have:

  • Previous experience as a manufacturing engineer within Automotive, Motorsport, or niche engineering projects.
  • Motorsport Mechanic experience at Senior/ Chief level
  • Knowledge of MRP systems.
  • Proven mechanical assembly experience gained from actively working as part of low volume engineering and prototyping projects.
  • Proven and skilled use of interpreting technical drawings and build procedures.
  • Understanding and experience within project planning.
  • Understanding of quality functions and standards required for high performance, safety critical, and visually outstanding deliverables.
  • Excellent communication skills, spoken and written, with the ability to work across multiple disciplines of a business.
  • Confident use of MS-Office applications.
  • Experience with championing Health and Safety protocols in the workplace.
