A leading provider of certification, audit, and assurance services is seeking a highly skilled professional to join its Assurance Services team as a Lead Auditor. With over 70 years of experience in the UK, the organization ensures that products and systems are safe, reliable, and compliant by offering testing, inspection, product certification, knowledge services, and training. The Business Assurance Division, established as a standalone division in 2020, delivers system-focused certification, audit, assurance services, and training across various industries both domestically and internationally.

Role Overview

The Lead Auditor will be responsible for conducting audits across multiple sectors, with a strong emphasis on ISO management systems, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), social compliance, and SMETA auditing. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that clients meet and exceed their compliance and certification objectives.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Plan, lead, and conduct audits for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
  2. Perform audits across various sectors aligned with EA codes: 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, and 39.
  3. Ensure adherence to APSCA standards and guidelines during all social compliance and ESG-related audits.
  4. Conduct SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) assessments to evaluate ethical trade compliance and ensure clients meet social accountability requirements.
  5. Prepare detailed audit reports and provide actionable recommendations to help clients enhance their systems.
  6. Collaborate with clients to support continuous improvement while maintaining independence and impartiality.
  7. Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices related to ISO standards, ESG frameworks, and social compliance.
  8. Deliver training or workshops on relevant standards, social compliance, and sustainability topics when required.
  9. Contribute to internal quality assurance and participate in peer review activities to ensure compliance with audit standards.
