Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our team in Spring Lodge.
This role requires the successful candidate to hold a full UK manual driving licence.
As a Support Worker, you\’ll make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will work with a diverse group, assisting with daily activities and providing emotional support, playing a vital role in their lives.
Spring Lodge supports four gentlemen with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health needs, and communication difficulties. Support includes personal care, medication, finances, eating, and drinking, in line with SALT recommendations, to help them achieve their goals and aspirations.
Qualities and Skills Required:
- Relationship Building: Essential for gaining trust, establishing open communication, and building lasting relationships.
- Patience and Understanding: Important for navigating challenging situations effectively.
- Conflict-Resolution Techniques: Necessary for managing and resolving conflicts constructively.
What we\’re looking for:
- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
Contract options:
- Part-time: 21 hours and 35 hours
Shift times:
Our services operate 24-hour care. Rotas are prepared at least 4 weeks in advance, allowing you to plan your personal and social life.
- Days: Between 07:00-22:00
*All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references.
