Pacific International Executive Search has been exclusively retained to assist a world leader in the pharmaceutical industry. We are seeking an experienced Vice President Operations Quality to lead and oversee the global quality strategy and operations across a network of manufacturing plants worldwide. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in establishing and driving quality assurance and compliance frameworks, coupled with exceptional leadership skills in managing global teams and aligning operations with corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Global Quality Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive quality strategy aligned with corporate goals to ensure the highest standards of compliance, product quality, and operational excellence across all sites.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Oversee adherence to international regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, EMA) and manage successful inspections and audits across global operations.
  • Operational Excellence: Drive quality system improvements, harmonize processes across production plants, and ensure continuous improvement initiatives are in place to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a global quality organization, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, R&D, Supply Chain) to ensure strategic alignment of quality objectives with business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Advanced degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, or related fields. Additional certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, ASQ CQE) are advantageous.
  • Experience: Over 15 years of experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences quality roles, with at least 5 years in a global leadership capacity.
  • Expertise: In-depth knowledge of GMP, FDA, EMA, and other global regulatory frameworks; experience in managing quality in complex, multi-site operations.
  • Skills: Strategic thinking, exceptional problem-solving, and strong influencing and communication abilities across cultures and hierarchies.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel extensively to global manufacturing sites as needed.
