We are seeking, on behalf of our client, a skilled and ambitious Sub Agent to join the project team on a new substation development in Orkney. This is an excellent opportunity to progress your career within a major infrastructure programme in the renewable energy sector.

Role Overview
As Sub Agent, you will support the Site Agent in the day-to-day management of construction activities. Your role will include coordinating subcontractors, supervising work packages, and ensuring all activities are delivered efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. You will be key in meeting project targets and deadlines.
Accommodation, travel, and subsistence will be fully covered by the contractor.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Site Agent in planning and coordinating construction activities, including scheduling, resourcing, and subcontractor management.
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality.
- Monitor progress against programme and budget, addressing issues and applying corrective actions where needed.
- Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and project documentation in line with health and safety standards and company procedures.
- Carry out regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to site staff, including coordinating design changes where necessary.
- Assist in preparing progress reports, site diaries, photographic records, and as-built drawings.
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree or HNC/D in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related subject.
- Previous experience in a similar role within the construction industry, with strong technical knowledge.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality systems.
- Proficiency with construction software (e.g. project management tools, CAD) is desirable.
- Ability to work well in a team, while demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.
