Our client are a privately owned independent Developer/Contractor with significant assets across the UK property market and a strong balance sheet. Recent developments have focused on student accommodation and regeneration projects in excess of £100m. We are seeking an experienced property professional to act as Development Director to identify and develop opportunities throughout the UK and Irish Property market. This will involve working closely with local authorities, land agents, co-developers and other property professionals to source opportunities as well as the internal team to progress them to financial close. The role will require a professional with broad experience covering the full development lifecycle capable of presenting development opportunity and progress reports to an Investment Committee. The role will also involve: Site and Development appraisal and options Liaise with financial institutions, equity investors and project finance lenders Engaging and communicating with planning authorities and other relevant stakeholders Proactively managing the projects through the development process identifying key risks to project development/delivery and managing budget or funding Work together with project developers and partners to scope and select project advisers and consultants Regular reporting to senior management in relation to programme and budget performance Oversight of tender/procurement process and review of construction progress and reporting Candidate will ideally come from a Property Surveying or Development Management background with some experience of working with a large property developer in the identification and commercial appraisal of development opportunities.
