Turnaround Coordinator

Contract Type: Permanent

Shift Pattern: 30 hours per week – 6 on 3 off, start times from 04:00am

Location: Luton – LU2 9NU

Security Note: The role is based within an airport. You will be required to undergo a security/background check if you are successful.

Pay Rate: £17.73 per hour (Grade: CA)

What does the role entail?

  • Coordinating the aircraft turnaround process from arrival to departure.
  • Ensuring all ground handling activities (passenger boarding, baggage loading, aircraft refueling) are carried out correctly and efficiently.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for ground handling agents, airport authorities and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitating effective communication between teams to ensure a seamless and timely turnaround.
  • Adhering to aircraft safety protocols, including weight and balance checks.
  • Resolving any issues or delays promptly.
  • Completing all paperwork related to the aircraft turnaround.

What do we need from you?

  • Full UK manual driving licence.
  • Team leading/management experience.
  • Previous aviation experience is desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritise tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to react accurately to any given situation.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.

Security process to work within aviation and travel at DHL

  • Provide five years address history.
  • Provide five years reference history (employment/education/benefit claim/character).
  • Obtain a full airside ID.
  • Pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test.
