Early Years Teaching Assistant – Hillfields Nursery School, Coventry

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the nursery age range and inclusive practice. We use Makaton, Shared Sustained Thinking and have a big focus using the full learning area, indoors and outdoors to offer a full Early Years Curriculum.

From September 2025, we are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about meeting children’s individual needs, learning through play indoors and outdoors and who is able to take on new skills to work with a wide range of needs as we have a high level of special educational needs identified.

Qualifications

Your qualification must meet the requirements of the Governments Early Years qualification checker and if you have qualified since June 2016, you must hold a valid Paediatric First Aid certificate for it to be valid.

Safeguarding & DBS

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced criminal record check via the DBS. Following recommendations from Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) for an additional pre-employment check with effect 1 Sept 22, please note, an online search may form part of this recruitment process.
