A leading chemicals manufacturer based in the Preston area are looking to recruit an R&D Chemist on a 12 month fixed term contract to cover MAT/PAT leave.
With post-graduate experience in aqueous formulations and knowledge of surfactant and polymer interactions, you will join a cohesive team within cutting edge research.
Applicants from the likes of the surfactant, personal care, homecare or paints manufacturing industries are encouraged.
Key responsibilities:
Develop scientific knowledge in all areas of formulations, including physical chemistry of surfactants, solvents, polymers.
Use laboratory equipment such as rheometer, FTIR and microscope.
Identify novel components that provide good properties and performance
Develop new products that comply with specifications, satisfying the agreed budget and timescales, complying with all necessary company procedures.
Develop knowledge of test methods
Provide all information required for product launch, including formulation details, manufacturing process, specification, technical performance data, tox and ecotox data.
Act in a professional manner at all times.
Maintain effective relationships with personnel from key departments – production, sales, quality, and R&D
Sills, experienced and qualifications:
BSc or higher in Chemistry or closely related subject
Minimum of 1-2 years post graduate experience within aqueous formulation development
Knowledge of surfactant, solvent and polymer systems
