Overview

We are currently looking for a Media Manager to join one of the M+C Saatchi Group\’s specialist divisions. M+C Saatchi World Services partners with governments, civil society, foundations, academia, and the private sector, we work on the critical issues of our time, including national security, social justice and conflict prevention.

About the role

The Media Manager will support the development and delivery of media strategies across multiple countries and projects, using a PESO model to influence knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours in target audiences. You will contribute to both strategic planning and day‑to‑day campaign execution within the Dissemination Unit, ensuring effective use of media channels and accurate performance reporting.

What you\’ll do:

  • Work closely with Media Strategists and other departments to define and design target audiences, media mix and measurement recommendations based on client briefs and strategy recommendations.
  • Manage multiple information and intelligence sources in order to gain as complete a picture as possible of the media environment in any given market.
  • To identify and clearly articulate the best means of reaching a target audience whether this is though paid, owned or earned media and demonstrate awareness of the benefits and practicalities of using each of those.
  • Receive creative assets from the accounts team and ensure they are loaded into World Services’ creative management platform (CMP) and into Google campaign manager
  • Work with other members of the Dissemination Unit team to successfully implement the recommended media dissemination strategy.
  • Build relationships with external supply partners in order to help manage the media buying process, from brief through to reporting.
  • Develop a firm understanding of Measures of Performance and Effect in regard to media and campaigns.
  • Support the delivery of ad hoc presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support to the wider Dissemination and Data team members in the collection of reports and media updates across all projects.
  • Contribute required information on any media projects as and when needed by clients and/or internal teams.
  • Build on an in-depth understanding of the media environment in the region(s) of interest in order to understand the wider risk factors affecting the country.
  • Keep up to date on media environment shifts and innovations in target geographical areas as well as emerging platforms and technologies.

Additionally

  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, digital marketing and search
  • Be prepared to assist outside the stated core responsibilities and be proactive in supporting a small, dynamic project team dealing with daily challenges.
  • Be an ambassador for M&C Saatchi World Services.

About you

What you bring (knowledge, expertise,experience, and skills):

Essential:

  • Enthusiastic and positive, with an understanding of the theory of marketing and advertising.
  • Knowledge of the media industry, media planning, buying and media dissemination.
  • Understanding of the PESO integrated communications model.
  • Comfortable working with data to identify insights and recommendations.
  • Adept at managing multiple partner relationships including but not limited to media buying agencies, digital platforms, data suppliers and in country media consultants.
  • Have working understanding on the prominent digital / social media platforms in regard to social and digital media buying and set-up.
  • Knowledge of fundamental techniques, tools and practices of a media planners.
  • Ability to work with messaging strategists and creative staff/partners to ensure the media and communication strategy combines to creates the greatest impact with the resources available.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills (English).
  • The ability to analyse data to discover insights.
  • Proficient in all components of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Ability to craft and present reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Experience of media projects or communications campaigns.

Desirable:

  • Previous work experience in the sector is not required or expected, but an education to BA or equivalent level in Marketing, Media and Communications, Psychology, or similar subjects will be beneficial.
  • Experience of working with NGOs, governmental and/or social impact activities.
  • A good understanding of geopolitics and the role of communications in behaviour change.
  • A demonstrable interest and understanding of geo-politics and International Relations.
