Job Description
Stress Engineer\\nPortsmouth – Hybrid 2/3 days on site\\nPermanent – £40,000 – £55,000\\nOur Offer\\nCapgemini Engineering are looking to recruit FE/Stress Engineers with particular focus on space systems.\\nYour Role\\nStructural Analysis consultant – your role will be to deliver Finite Element studies as well as analytical stress reports applied to Space Systems (satellite payloads, panels, satellite structural assemblies, equipment, ground support equipment).\\nKey responsibilities include:\\n * Understand and study stress analysis workflow, as prescribed by customer. This can be static, dynamic analysis, acoustics and specific post-processing tools.\\n * Finite Elements analysis, all aspects:\\n * modify/adapt geometry;\\n * develop or update models with appropriate level of idealisation and boundary conditions;\\n * perform verification/validation activities;\\n * run simulations (static, dynamic, vibrations…),\\n * perform post-processing and analysis of results.\\n * Perform analytical stress calculations using either textbook-based or prescribed methods and tools.\\n * Present and report progress and results, internally and externally.\\n * Write technical reports.\\n * Contribute to working session with designers as regards to structural results and design iterations.\\n * Maintain direct working relationships with clients and represent your work during client meetings.\\nYour Profile\\n * Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in an engineering or scientific discipline, ideally Mechanical.\\n * Experience of stress engineering in aerospace.\\n * Experience using HYPERWORKS and NASTRAN for FE modelling and analysis.\\n * Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes desirable.\\n * Ability to work quickly and accurately to follow client needs.\\n * Communication and customer-facing skills.\\n * Team player, able to work effectively and to short timescales with others in a busy environment.\\n * Proactive attitude and ability to communicate and report at different levels.\\n * Excellent communication skills with a good level of verbal and written English.\\n * Knowledge of FEMAP could be a plus.\\nWhat does ‘Get The Future You Want‘ mean for you?\\nYou will be encouraged to have a positive work-life balance.
