Role Purpose:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will provide service to the site to ensure maximum plant up time by carrying out planned maintenance, corrective maintenance and capital modifications to plant.
We undertake our maintenance activities in a sustainable and safe way to drive improvement programs in a continuous improvement culture. We operate a strict zero tolerance Alcohol and Drug policy across all our sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- To apply the Sibelco Health, Safety & Environmental Policy ensuring all systems/standards are applied at all times.
- Use skills and experience to monitor plant performance and condition in order to identify potential breakdowns before they occur, ensuring that any required actions are correctly reported.
- Be actively involved in new plant installations/modifications from the design stage through to final commissioning.
- Provide a 24-hour, 7 day/week support service to the site via a rota call out system.
- Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and kept in a clean and tidy condition.
About you:
- Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent
- ONC/HNC Mechanical Engineering
- Competent in welding and fabrication
- Knowledge of mineral processing equipment including, screening, pumping, drying or similar industrial equipment would be a significant advantage.
- Basic electrical understanding and a willingness to further develop in electrical competence would also be preferential.
- Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques including SMED, RCPS, 5’s, etc
- Willingness to adjust hours to suit business needs.
- Enjoy working in a team whilst being comfortable working autonomously.
- Current clean driving license
