Overview
Hello, my name is K and I live in Truro. I’m looking for a male support worker with initiative to join my team. I have complex needs and you will need to have experience/training with Autism. We are looking for male Support Workers to join our friendly and welcoming team here at Bluebird Care Mid & West Cornwall supporting our customer in Truro.
Work Area: Truro and travel across Cornwall for days out. Job Types: Part-time, Permanent. Shifts: 8 hour shifts / days. Staffing: 1-1. Salary: £12.24 on weekdays and £12.42 on weekends, with an extra 50% per hour on Bank Holidays. Plus, there are plenty of opportunities for career advancement and comprehensive training and support to help you succeed. Mileage is paid at 35p per mile.
Licence/Certification: UK Full UK Driving Licence with your own car. Schedule: Day shifts, Monday to Friday. Ability to commute/relocate: Based in Cornwall or willing to relocate.
Responsibilities
- Drive and use mobility car (not an adapted vehicle) to accompany the client in daily activities and outings.
- Be with the client for the full 8 hours and follow a planned day itinerary.
- Walk the client’s dog as part of the routine.
- Provide prompts to keep things tidy and assist with laundry; may require occasional transport for family members to appointments or shopping, with family accompanying on outings when needed.
- Support with non-medical tasks as needed; no administration of medications or personal care required.

The client has an entrepreneur mindset, loves shopping (including items to resell), enjoys creating films, listening to music, playing arcade games, and visiting the beach. He enjoys SpongeBob and Scooby-Doo. Meeting new people can take time; at least 3 meetings are preferred to establish rapport.
