  • Type: Full Time
  • Hours: 37.5 per week
  • Pay: Β£24,465 per annum
  • Location: Cumberland Infirmary, Newtown Road, Carlisle, Cumbria, England, CA2 7HY
  • Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 6-2 & 2-10 pm with occasional weekend work

Role Responsibilities

  • Collect, move, sort, process, and dispatch waste and materials across the airport.
  • Load/unload hazardous and non-hazardous waste safely and efficiently.
  • Respond to adhoc client requests and maintain cleanliness through regular litter picks.
  • Complete daily equipment check sheets and report unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental policies, and waste legislation.

What We’re Looking For

  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks safely.
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to work outdoors in all weather.
  • Manual handling training and strong literacy/numeracy skills.
  • Excellent timekeeping, attendance, and a diligent, safety-first mindset.
  • Desirable: experience in the waste industry and use of balers/compactors.
