We are seeking a highly competent and SMSTS/SSSTS-trained Site Supervisor to oversee site operations and ensure the highest standards of safety and quality are maintained, primarily for the Projects team Fabric and Fire door programmes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site supervision, health and safety compliance, and quality assurance processes, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to snagging and handover procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out site surveys and assist in scoping/quoting of works
- Review risk assessments from Mitie and subcontractors, ensuring they are concise, task-specific, and produced in a timely manner
- Set subcontractors to work and supervise site operations
- Oversee daily site activities ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations (SMSTS)
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel for smooth project execution
- Monitor progress against project timelines and report deviations
- Conduct regular site inspections and toolbox talks
- Ensure health, safety, quality, and environmental standards are met
- Attend client planning meetings as required; manage works to submitted schedules
- Ensure compliance with the MITIE Maintenance Quality Management System
- Lead snagging inspections and ensure defects are rectified promptly
- Prepare and manage quality assurance documentation, including handover packs and O&M manuals
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure satisfaction
- Conduct final quality checks and ensure standards are met
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Building fabric/construction background; valid CSCS and SSSTS/SMSTS or equivalent
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry standards including CDM
- Strong understanding of quality assurance and post-completion procedures
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Proficiency in reporting and documentation
