Our client is an entrepreneurial and fast-growing manufacturer of sports nutrition and energy products, with 2 successful brands available in major UK retailers and on-line via its own DTC sites and on-line retailers. Its best-in-class products have a reputation for quality and performance, helping athletes, cyclists and fitness enthusiast to train, build strength & endurance, and achieve their goals.
We are looking for an experienced International Account Manager to join the team, focused on driving growth in key international markets including major European and Middle Eastern geographies, working closely with distributors.
Position Overview
As an International Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing and strategically developing a portfolio of accounts. This involves researching, defining, and delivering development plans with measurable objectives for growth. You will work closely with distributors to drive consumption and build brands, while conducting regular business review meetings to fully understand customers and markets.
Responsibilities
- Full responsibility for the management and strategic development of your portfolio of accounts.
- Delivering sales volume and contribution in line with agreed budgets and forecasts.
- Researching, defining and delivering development plans for your accounts and new business opportunities.
- Setting marketing, pricing and promotional plans with clear targets and budgets.
- Building activation plans with your distributors to drive consumption and build our brands.
- Pre and post promotional evaluations, sharing recommendations for future activity.
- Conduct regular business review meetings with accounts, to fully understand customers & markets
- Carrying out visits as necessary, to build collaborative relationships and maximise opportunities.
- On larger accounts, delivering customer JBPs, including category reviews and recommendations.
- Maintaining budgets, pricing, forecasting and promotional activities for all of your accounts.
- Working collaboratively and cross functionally across the business to ensure the sales and operations plans are executed for maximum benefit for the business and its customers.
- Collaborating closely with the Marketing team to identify trending topics and gaps in content relevant to the brands, target audience and their consumer needs.
- Skills & Experience Checklist
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a customer facing role selling FMCG/consumer packaged goods.
- Positive and driven with high energy levels – you are going to be selling sports nutrition so look lively!
- Experience managing International accounts, with a particular expertise in managing accounts in the Middle East and North Africa.
- Experience managing distributors and understanding the balance between sales and marketing investment to drive these accounts forward.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity with a willingness to try new things, attempt and fail just so long as you learn.
- A strong WIN WIN negotiator, preferably GAP negotiation trained.
