Cranleigh STEM & Sustainability have partnered with a leading consultancy dedicated to driving sustainability in the built environment. They are seeking a Senior Building Physics Consultant to join their growing team.

The Role

This role offers the opportunity to provide expert technical and strategic advice across a range of building physics services, including:

  • Thermal Comfort & Overheating Assessments
  • Building Regulations Compliance (SAP/SBEM)
  • Thermal Bridging Analysis
  • Energy Strategy and Energy Statements
  • Daylight, Sunlight & Overshadowing Studies
  • Internal Daylight Modelling
  • Low and Zero Carbon (LZC) Feasibility Studies
  • Operational Energy Modelling (TM54)

You’ll work closely with design teams on high-profile projects, ensuring best practice in building physics and sustainability. Additionally, you’ll contribute to producing high-quality reports, managing key client accounts, and fostering long-term client relationships.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in the construction industry (e.g. sustainability consultancy, architecture, planning, M&E, or related fields)
  • A relevant degree in Engineering, Physics, Maths, Sustainability, or a related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and planning policies
  • Experience with industry design software, including IES VE, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and CFD
  • Familiarity with GLA planning requirements
  • Experience in overheating/daylight assessments and thermal bridging analysis
  • Proficiency in IES Apache HVAC for detailed energy modelling
  • Experience using CAD software (e.g. SketchUp, Rhino, Grasshopper) and Radiance/Ladybug tools.
