Calling all Clinical PMOs – your expertise is needed to drive innovative solutions and improve patient outcomes in Wound Care.

About the Role:

As a PMO Wound Care SME, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic solutions for wound care products. You will work under the direction of the NHSE MVA Head of Strategic Category Management – Devices & Borderline Substances, ensuring that NHS procurement processes are efficient and effective.

Role Scope:

Join the NHSE Medicines Value and Access Directorate as a PMO Wound Care Subject Matter Expert. This role is pivotal in enhancing clinical and patient outcomes while driving operational and financial efficiencies across primary and secondary care.

Please note that applicants must have a proven track record of delivering complex healthcare projects in wound care or another clinical specialty.

Working Conditions:

  • Working Hours: Full-time role with a standard workweek of 37.5 hours.
  • Contract Type: 12-month fixed-term contract.
  • Working Location: Hybrid (Monthly visits to the NHSE London Waterloo office)

As the Successful Candidate, Your Duties Will Include:

Service Model Development:

  • Assess current service models and wound care pathways, identifying their strengths and weaknesses.
  • Propose alternative service models and pathways that ensure the best value for money and patient care.
  • Gather and analyse data to support your evidence-based recommendations for new operating models.
  • Develop and implement these new models, conducting consultations and providing valuable guidance to the NHS.

As part of our team, you\’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Explore options for standardised pricing methodologies across both primary and secondary care settings.
  • Work closely with NHSE, DHSC, and NHS Supply Chain to implement preferred pricing options.
  • Publish recommendations on the best value wound care products tailored for different patient groups.
  • Co-develop wound care product classification structures alongside clinical subject matter experts.
  • Develop minimum requirements and specifications for wound care products.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Degree in a Relevant Field: Preferably in healthcare, nursing, or a related discipline.
  • Project Management Qualification: Such as PRINCE2, MSP, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Extensive Knowledge and SME expertise in Wound Care.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex healthcare projects
  • Excellent Communication and Stakeholder Management Skills.
  • Ability to Analyse and Interpret Data to Inform Decision-Making.
  • Familiarity with NHS Procurement Processes and Standards.
