About the Role
Leeds City College is recruiting 5 Learning Support Assistants for the PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Disability) and Complex Needs department.
This is a part-time, reduced-year role with various working hours available:
- 18 hours over 3 days per week, 39 weeks per year (£10,790 per annum)
- 30 hours over 5 days per week, 39 weeks per year (£17,984 per annum)
The Vine department supports over 50 learners with complex needs and challenging behaviors. We deliver a tailored curriculum to meet individual needs in line with EHCPs, focusing on developing personal and life skills to prepare learners for adulthood. Our team emphasizes teamwork, mutual support, and high standards to enable learners to lead independent and fulfilling lives.
What You Will Do
- Support and contribute to course delivery in Independent Living skills, aligned with The Preparation for Adulthood framework.
- Assist students according to curriculum objectives and EHCP outcomes.
- Create engaging resources to support learning and development.
- Help learners develop practical skills for adulthood.
- Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback to support their development.
- Work collaboratively to create a nurturing and positive environment for learners.
About You
- Support and contribute to delivering courses in Independent Living skills, focusing on The Preparation for Adulthood.
- Support students in line with curriculum objectives and EHCPs.
- Create resources to engage learners.
