PE Global is recruiting an Animal Care Technician for our animal health client based in Milton Keynes. The rate range this role is £23.94 – £32.02 p/h and the role is an initial 12-month contract.

Responsibilities:

  • In compliance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP\’s) and Company study requirements provides direct animal care and indirect support of the animal colony.
  • Manages the receipt, storage and distribution of critical research suppliers.
  • Conducts animal inventories and ensures that animal identification cards reflect current data.
  • Manages the program for animal grooming and conducts technician level physical exams on animals within the vivarium and housed off-site.
  • Provides for the environmental enrichment of the animals.
  • Validates the proper functioning of equipment. Position will receive direction and support.

Requirements:

  • GMP Compliance experience
  • A valid driver\’s license
  • Knowledge of Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986
  • Experience in Animal Husbandry
  • MS Word and Excel
  • Able to communicate at all levels and across all functions
  • Good Time Management in a high flow Animal unit/ Laboratory
  • Flexible approach to changing priorities
  • Attention to detail
  • GCSE or equivalent in English, Mathematics, Science.
