PE Global is recruiting an Animal Care Technician for our animal health client based in Milton Keynes. The rate range this role is £23.94 – £32.02 p/h and the role is an initial 12-month contract.
Responsibilities:
- In compliance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOP\’s) and Company study requirements provides direct animal care and indirect support of the animal colony.
- Manages the receipt, storage and distribution of critical research suppliers.
- Conducts animal inventories and ensures that animal identification cards reflect current data.
- Manages the program for animal grooming and conducts technician level physical exams on animals within the vivarium and housed off-site.
- Provides for the environmental enrichment of the animals.
- Validates the proper functioning of equipment. Position will receive direction and support.
Requirements:
- GMP Compliance experience
- A valid driver\’s license
- Knowledge of Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986
- Experience in Animal Husbandry
- MS Word and Excel
- Able to communicate at all levels and across all functions
- Good Time Management in a high flow Animal unit/ Laboratory
- Flexible approach to changing priorities
- Attention to detail
- GCSE or equivalent in English, Mathematics, Science.
