We are looking to speak with experienced repair and manufacturing engineers who are looking for the opportunity to work on advanced semiconductor technologies. No previous experience in the industry is required, however, preference will be given to candidates with a similar background.
Your responsibilities will include:
As their Manufacturing Equipment Engineer, you\’ll be responsible for the build, repair, and testing of advanced Semiconductor Ion Implantation equipment. You can expect a varied role, providing exposure to a broad range of engineering challenges and offering plenty of opportunities for professional growth.
On a typical week, you can expect to be involved in:
- Troubleshooting and repairing complex electrical and mechanical issues.
- Collaborating with the team to refurbish Ion Implantation Equipment.
- Performing assembly, rebuilding, and preventive maintenance on all company products.
- Working from engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals for equipment installation and repairs.
- Ensuring compliance with documentation standards and ISO procedures, while maintaining cleanroom protocols.
To thrive in this role, you will have
- A HNC or equivalent in electrical engineering or a closely related subject.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical systems.
- Solid understanding of electrical-mechanical integration.
- The ability to troubleshoot, fault find, and the willingness to roll up your sleeves and solve technical challenges.
It would be great (but not essential) if you also had:
- Experience working with high voltage systems.
- Experience in care and inspection of plant, services, and equipment.
- Semiconductor equipment/Medical equipment/Capital equipment/Military experience

Based in Bathgate and with a sister site in South France, Ion Beam Services has been leading the way in Ion Implantation services since 1987. They have a world class team of specialists in design, repair, refurbishment used in the global semiconductor, MEMS, Nano, LED and photovoltaic industries.
With a planned site move to the Motherwell area in the coming 12-months, this role is perfectly located for those in Glasgow, Edinburgh, North/South Lanarkshire, West Lothian, Edinburgh, Falkirk, Stirling, Renfrewshire, and Dunbartonshire.
