Aston Education is working with a popular 11-16 mainstream secondary school in Waltham Forest, East London, looking for a full-time HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) with Examination access arrangement training to start as soon as possible. The school is a thriving community school with free parking on site. They are part of a medium size academy trust who are committed to supporting staff to achieve swift career progression, offering a range of opportunities and experiences across the trust schools. They also offer LGPS pension and excellent CPD.

As an HLTA, you’ll plan and teach whole class lessons across KS3 and KS4. You’ll create an engaging learning environment and work collaboratively with the teaching and SEND teams.

Qualifications, experience, and skills required include:

  • HLTA qualification or Level 3 Diploma in the Children and Young People Workforce
  • Examination access arrangement training
  • Experience working with pupils in a secondary school
  • Experience leading whole classes or large groups
  • Good Literacy and Numeracy skills
  • Calm, patient and caring attitude with a good sense of humour
  • A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
  • Passion to make a positive difference
